RELEVANCE OF CHAPTERS
Relevance of Smackoba Chapters to the mother body.
- To help in identifying members early after the College, unite them under one Umbrella and purpose o as to remain in tandem with the Association.
- Help in mobilization of members during worthy causes, fundraising and social gatherings.
- Chapters are the major Catchment areas for the mother Association.
- To help in grooming leaders from an early age and stage. This also helps in leadership succession planning.
Relevance of Alumni Association its Chapter to its members.
- Alumni Chapter help member’s acclamatise better when they move to new environments away from St. Mary’s College Kisubi.
- Alumni communities share experiences about life, College and University Challenges and provide real life solutions to current Challenges faced.
- The Association and its Chapters provide life – long mentorships to member, recognize achievements made by their members and also act as Shock-pads in times of need, sorrow or otherwise.
- The Re Unions and Social gatherings done every once in a while help in networking, galvanizing the brotherhood for bigger and worthy causes done as a unit. There are many opportunities offered to form life-long relationships either physically or virtually as the modern world demand.
Relevance of the Association to the College and its Students
The Association initiates and implements both soft and hardware projects at the College. These include but are not limited to:
- The College Signage by the main road showing the location and address of the school.
- The new College main gate.
- The Swimming pool.
- The Computer library.
- The Hsc Library on the new Hsc building done in memory of the Late Arch. Paul Kyegombe.
- Helps in fundraising and dormitory blocks as need arises.
- Sponsoring Awards, Sports Events, gazette school Calendar days like feast day, Easter festivities and other Galas.
- The Association has on a number of times helped in contributing Scholarships to those students who are both in need of them but also deserving as per their academic performance. And in this very regard the Endowment Fund of St. Mary’s College Kisubi Old Boys Association was set up to help raise funds for the cause and channel them better to those most deserving. The Fund is chaired by Mr. Fabian Kasi the MD of Centenary bank and has its Accounts in Centenary Bank.
- Smackoba members also share best practices in life with students for their guidance; They may share internship and jobs openings for the benefit of students all levels including the adult members. Internships begin in school but can and may continue after studies into more permanent placing. In doing all these above St. Mary College Kisubi Old boys Association (Smackoba) contributes to the well-being of the College, its students and the general membership of the Association. Duc in Altum is Latin for Launch into the Deep, this goes back into the Biblical story where Jesus asked his disciples “to put out into the deep”, go forth into deep waters and lower their nets for bigger catches.

- Life Membership Packages are with the Secretary General’s office.
- Life Membership is acquired by the Old Boys paying 1,000,000/= (One million Uganda Shillings) into the Association Bank Account Number 3100003731, Centenary Bank, Mapeera Branch. The deposit slip is then sent to the Association Admin on 0705676767 to issue receipt to the member confirming payment.

Welcome to the official section of SMACKOBA-UK, the United Kingdom Chapter of St. Mary’s College Kisubi Alumni Association. We are a vibrant community of former students, known as “SMACKISTS,” who share a common heritage and commitment to our alma mater, St. Mary’s College Kisubi.
Who We Are.
SMACKOBA-UK is a diverse and dynamic network of students, professionals, entrepreneurs, academics, and leaders, all united by our experiences at St. Mary’s College. Our members work in various industry sectors, bringing together a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and camaraderie.
What We Do.
- Networking and Professional Development:
We organise regular networking events to strengthen professional collaboration among our members. - Mentorship and Support:
Our mentorship programs connect seasoned professionals with younger alumni and current students, providing guidance, career advice, and support. - Social and Recreational Activities:
We meet every last Friday of the month in London for social drinks, providing a relaxed atmosphere to catch up and network. Additionally, we host two major annual events: a Summer Party and a Christmas Party, to celebrate our shared heritage and strengthen our bonds. - Support for SMACK:
We actively contribute to the advancement of SMACK through fundraising, donations, and projects aimed at enhancing the educational experience and facilities for current students.
